How does a heat pump work?
An outdoor unit is discretely installed. It works like a fridge in reverse creating hot water for your home’s radiators or underfloor heating. We use the same technology as the units used in Scandinavia which are designed to work in conditions as low as -25 degrees Celsius.
Heating & Hot Water
The system provides for all your home’s hot water needs. It also improves the water pressure for homes with low pressure. Central heating systems can be installed to work with the heat pump if no pipework is in place.

Using the wireless controller or app on your phone, you can then control the temperature of your home. We install this with the Heat Pump and we will also help you work out the controls so you are completely set up.

This will depend on how large the system you require is and the access to your property, timescales can vary for an Air Source Heat Pump installation. Typically most installations are completed within 2 working days once a survey has been completed.
An Air Source Heat Pump needs to be located outside in the open air and sufficient space must be allowed around the unit (1000mm from front and sides, 300mm from back) so air can flow freely into it.
With world-leading innovation in fan and compressor design, modern Heat Pumps have a sound pressure level of 45dB at one meter which for reference is 1dB louder than the average library and quieter than the average dishwasher which sits at around 70dB and the average gas boiler which sits at around 60dB.
So to put things into context, if you took your current boiler and placed it outside your house, connected it and turned it on, an Air Source Heat Pump supplied by us would still be quieter. These low noise levels are a way of ensuring that your heating system can be under the required decibel limit of 42dB taken one meter away from your neighbours’ door or window.

Yes, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) launched in Spring 2022 to aid the decarbonisation of buildings. It provides upfront capital grants to support the installation of Heat Pumps, and in some circumstances biomass boilers, in homes and some non-domestic buildings. The BUS will be open to properties located in England and Wales. Homeowners can claim £7,500 from the government to help towards the cost of installation.
Yes! While the hot water for your bathrooms will require a slightly more powerful heat pump compared to the heating for your radiators – this is very attainable.
