Daikin has been in the game for a long time when it comes to Air Source Heat Pumps and they have produced reliable models for years with the emphasis on making the transition away from fossil fuels as quick and easy as possible. This is especially true with their latest model, the Daikin Altherma. Unlike other Air Source Heat Pumps, the Altherma outside unit includes all of the hydraulics housed in its main chassis meaning that it is much easier to install and connect than other more conventional Air Source Heat Pump systems.
The Daikin Altherma outdoor unit can be installed almost anywhere, under a windowsill, or in the smallest of gardens. So, it’s a natural fit for new build and renovation projects alike. In order to protect the water pipes from freezing up during winter, insulation is provided for all hydraulic components and special software has been applied to activate the pump and back-up heater if necessary. This prevents the water temperature from dropping below freezing point and obviates the need for the addition of glycol to the water pipes.
The Daikin Altherma Air Source Heat Pump is also optimised for newer home heating systems, such as underfloor heating, as well as traditional radiator systems. The Altherma also uses the latest R32 refrigerant in its system which grants it the ability to operate in temperatures as low as -25°C.
A fully optimised Daikin Altherma system can achieve a COP rating of over 5 making it one of the most effective heating systems on the market. It also has a seasonal efficiency rating of A+++ and with a flow temperature of over 60°C, you can rest assured that the Daikin Altherma is more than up to heating your home using the latest Air Source Heat Pump technology.
